Sub Heroes

Bridging our South Asian flavors with classic American deli fare, we offer a selection of Sub Heroes – large, hearty sandwiches served on hero rolls (long sub buns). These are perfect when you’re in the mood for something familiar like a cheesesteak or sub, but still want the quality and halal preparation Kababees provides. Each hero is made to order on a fresh, soft roll (around a foot long), loaded with flavorful fillings, melty cheese, and tasty toppings. They’re great for lunch or dinner on the go, or as a satisfying grab-and-eat meal. Let’s introduce our three signature heroes:

 

• Philly Cheesesteak – Our take on the East Coast classic. This sub features thinly sliced halal beefsteak that we grill on a hot griddle with onions and green peppers until the beef is juicy and the veggies are tender. We then pile it high on the roll and smother it with melted cheese (usually provolone or American, depending on preference). The result is a savory, cheesy masterpiece. We keep it pretty authentic: the beef is seasoned simply to let its natural flavor shine, and the combination of caramelized onions, peppers, and gooey cheese gives that unmistakable Philly taste. Many say if you’ve been searching for a halal cheesesteak that doesn’t compromise on the true flavor, this is it. Every bite oozes with cheese and beef – messy in the best way.
• Chicken Cheesesteak – Inspired by the Philly style but made with lean chicken breast. We slice and grill the chicken similarly with onions and peppers, and treat it with the same love – seasoning it and cooking until tender. Then comes the blanket of melted cheese over the chicken right on the grill so it melds nicely. This one is a fantastic alternative if you prefer chicken over beef; it’s lighter but still absolutely satisfying. The chicken takes on a great flavor from the seared onions and peppers. We toast the roll lightly for both cheesesteaks to give it a slight crunch that holds up to the fillings.
• Grilled Chicken Hero – This sub is like a chicken sandwich turned into a hero. We take marinated grilled chicken (often we use a breast fillet, marinated in a flavorful but not spicy herb marinade), grill it up, and place the whole piece (or sliced strips) into the long roll. It’s dressed more like a traditional hero: usually with lettuce, tomatoes, maybe raw onions, and a sauce (you can choose mayo, or white sauce, or even a spicy peri-peri mayo if you want a kick). Think of it as a halal grilled chicken sub that’s part burger, part sandwich. It’s big, it’s tasty, and it has a healthier vibe since the chicken is grilled, not fried. But we make sure it’s not dry – the marinade and proper grilling keep it juicy. Some people add cheese to this as well to make it a chicken-and-cheese hero, which we’re happy to do.

 

All our Sub Heroes come wrapped in paper and foil, just like a classic deli would serve, so they stay warm and are easy to handle. They’re sizable – often cut in half for manageability – and can definitely fill you up. Many customers grab these when they want something different from rice and curry but still want the Kababees guarantee of flavor. They’re also quite portable, making them great for eating in the car or at your desk without much fuss.
